Hello - I bought an LCP custom a couple months ago, then bought a spare Ruger 6-round magazine about a week ago. Today I went to the range and fired it for the first time. I put about 90 trouble-free rounds through it, alternating mags.
When I came home and cleaned it, I noticed that one mag is made in Italy and one is made in USA. I don't know which came with the gun and which I ordered later.
I've looked around on the web and couldn't find much, except that some people say the guns come with the Italian mag, but the separate OEM Ruger mags are made in USA.
Just curious what the story is on this. Since both mags were trouble-free, I am not too concerned ... or should I be.
Thanks

Some of the worse magazines that I've dealt with were "made in the USA".
Some of the best I've dealt with were MecGar mags, "made in Italy".

Just sayin'.

I've heard the American mags are the ones, if any, that give trouble. My pistol came with one American mag, and I purchased another mag made in Italy. No issues with either to date. Regards, 021

I have four Ruger magazines for my LCP, three from Italy and one USA. They all function flawlessly and appear identical.

The one from Italy came with the gun. The Italian ones have a better reputation for reliability.
