I have had my LC9 for a little over a year now and the slide have always have some movement. It have over 500 rounds thur it without any malfuncton at all. The only problem I have had was ther rear sight came loose early on but some locktic fixed that. The loose slide didn't bother me until my brother in law pick one up a few weeks ago and he tell me his slide is not loose at all. Is a loose slide something to worry about?

be safe

My slide was real loose on mine also. I sent it off to Ruger and they contacted me saying that they were going to replace the gun. Right now I'm just waiting for them to get the replacement and send it to my LGS.

Need to be a little more specific. If by loose, you mean the normal motion feels loose and not side-to-side, then get a 20 lb spring set from Galloway. That should fix it.

My LC9 has a loose slide. I guess it could be loose enough to be a problem but how loose is too loose?

My slide was pretty loose on mine. It was to the point that I didn't feel that it was safe. I contacted Ruger CS and sent it off to them. They sent me a new gun and the slide is loose also. Not as loose as the first one but still loose. Without a loaded magazine in and the slide closed the slide will rattle if I shake it. I'm thinking that the LC9 just has loose tolerances. I must say though that it cycles perfectly without any problems. I feel confident to carry it every day (that's if I'm not carrying my SR9c).
