Ruger bases.

I have a confession to make i own 4 #3s no scopes on any of them but every #3 with a scope i have ever seen had weaver bases and rings i thought even the ruger bases took weaver rings boy was i wrong i now see why you want the ruger bases and rings they look way nicer

Gramps

This got me to wondering so i dug into the safe and on a hornet that was the first #3 i bought there is a set of what i believe are ruger bases they take the ruger rings but have no markings to suggest they were made by ruger were they marked in any way

No, they are clean simple streamline simple blocks of steel.….
IMO the best looking of all the options.

FWIW:
Conetrol is nice looking & quality but very expensive.
Redfield “was” (no longer made) a very nice option, very hard to find now.

The No.3 used to be the inexpensive option, the reason one see’s a lot of Weaver, now they are turning colectable and 1k+.
While the Weaver works just fine, just not aesthetic.
