Finally bought a Ruger African 9.3x62 a couple weeks ago. Got my order into Buds a day before this current buying storm hit. I had been waiting for Buds to get them back in stock after the previous time that they sold out (had to sell another toy to get funds). The 9.3x62's were in stock for only about a day this time until it showed as 'out of stock'. I just noticed that one of these rifles which I had been watching on GB went from $999 to $1199 and the text also says that it is a discontinued caliber/rifle. Is there any truth to that or is it just hype to gin up sales.

I'm happy with my rifle, glad I got it when I did at the price I paid. I was afraid that it would be in a flat finish but it appears to be regular blue. Can't wait to get to the range....after I get a chance to load some 270gr Speer soft points in my new brass.

It's still listed on the Ruger website, but the "order" button is gone, so maybe it is discontinued for 2013? I have one of the Gunblast editions with the Circassian walnut and love it. Glad you were able to get yours! You will enjoy it.

My 9.3x62 Ruger is bright blue also, I purchased it as soon as they were available from Ruger. It has nice wood and is a good shooter. I didn't think their offering would last long since this calibre is an oddity here in the states.

I have been a 9.3x62 user since 2000 when I put my first together. I think Ruger just nailed it when they came out with that rifle. I was tempted but already having two built on FN's I really have no need. The Ruger version is perfection IMO.
