I don't know about the barrel length , but they are heavy. I have 2, one a very early .22-250 with the Douglas barrel, and a .25-06. The early one has very nice wood. The .25-06 is O.K. wood. The .22-250 never shot good till I turned the powder can upside down a bit. 38 grains of H 380 + a 55 grain bullet. STOP all you internet loading wizzes. I could read loading info back then, the same as now. Just saying.... May have been 50 grain bullets. Would have to consult my loading records. Their older than most of the experts on the "Net".
