Ruger is taking pre-orders from distributors for a run of 1B Stainless/laminate in 450 Bushmaster. 20" barrel with muzzlebrake, no sights.

And everybody thought the #1 was a goner
Must not be since Ruger is the one doing the soliciting to make a new caliber variation.

Yup, Lew Horton is supposedly the exclusive distributor. Neat looking rifle...

I may end up in divorce court just put a deposit on the American ranch yesterday.

Someone at Ruger is thinking outside the box...new life should and can be breathed into the No. 1, to me, it has as much heritage and importance in the history of Ruger as the Standard pistol.

The No.1 epitomizes WBR and what he stood for....unique firearms, reinvented using modern manufacturing methods and affordable....for most.

So does this mean that Lipsey's is NO LONGER EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTOR FOR THE NO.1?

I want one!

I am getting solicitations to pre-order this model from Lipsey's and Zanders.
MSRP $1499

I think the #1 is alive and well. This is no cleanup model. Wonder if the real issue with all the rumors of the #1 demise was actually a demise of the exclusive relationship between Lipseys and Ruger.

This gun is available through multiple distributors. Which tells me Ruger is actively seeking out as wide a market as possible for these guns.

I think we are going to see Ruger and all gun companies diversify their offerings. They no longer have the cash cow of anything black and high capacity. No more easy money.

Before the cockles of your heart over heat...

Ruger's #1 marketing plan reportedly is for one model, in one caliber, each year. Hardly, a significant commitment to keeping the #1 line humming.

Looks like it comes with a threaded muzzle so easy to add a suppressor like a Silencerco Hybrid and have some fun. Just a thought.
Yeah, great for hippo poaching or black ops in brushy environments.

:)

My lgs said it's fugly I told him only in his eye, if he gets one put it up for me layaway is my friend.

I'm getting inquiries on what the "selling price" will be. MSRP is $1499, but I suppose the market will determine the price. Without disclosing the dealer's cost. there's not a whole lot of margin built in. If recent history is indicative, the first few will go insane on GunBroker and then at a later time some dealer needing cash flow will have them for $50+/- cost. I've signed up for a few, which is a big gamble for me heading into the summer slump.

I read on another site dealer cost was $1199 whether it was correct or not I don't know.

Yeah...everybody watch...bet you'll see a few of the more common model/caliber variations continue to dribble out of the factory.

Yep. She just needs a mounting system so one can add a bunch of "useful" accessories. What's next - plastic stock? Maybe a pistol grip fore end? I hear .50 BMG is next....

Let me know when mine comes in and where to send my money :D

Added: Wouldn't this be a great brush gun as a K1A. I think iron sights would be a real plus.
