Ruger #1 .404 Jeffery

Looking at one and don't know much about them. How many made? This one looks to have maybe a lion or something like that on the side of it. Price guess would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Pretty rare, but there shouldn't be any lions on it, so that will negatively affect the price.
With the depressed market right now, I wouldn't hazard a guess as to what it's worth. The only sure way to ever tell is to put it up for sale and see what happens.

Only about 300 made if memory serves. From what I recall Ruger reamed the 404 chamber wrong. If you ever send one in to Ruger you won't get it back. I'd love to have one just because.
