Yes , I believe so.
I had one reblued by Tyler Gunworks in August 2018. Here is a couple of pics of when it came back and pics now.
The plum has bled through the reblue.
Kinda cool, I think.

That's interesting! I really like the plum coloring. My RSS9 that I just picked up shows a slight plum tint under the right light- I hope it intensifies.
The way the one in my picture above is going, it will be a twin to one of those Cerakoted Wranglers in several years!

I have always had the understanding that the “plum” color does intensify over time. But, I was recently on a Colt forum and someone had an older Python that had a plum cylinder release and asked the same question. An apparent member, a gun smith of 25 years, came on and said no the color after bluing doesn’t change. I challenged his assertion, and he was adamant so I let it go, didn’t want to argue
when its another gun such as in the case of the Python, the "reddish" color is most likelly due to improper bluing temperatures, thats how one tells when a gun is "redone"...the Rugers it is the "mix" of the batch of the alloys when they cast the various parts, they will plum, no matter what and yes when you ( we did) reblue them they will turn again to the 'plum'......it used to be with some guns ,like Winchester and their "nickel" steel, to get them to actually "blue" completely you had to run up th e temps, over normal specs ,maybe a couple of times, for it turn blue (darken)..... lot to learn when doing "bluing"and the various salt baths...big, big difference in "redoing a gun" , and doing it properly, there are blue jobs and there are "restorations"
I read where ol' Bill asked why they go plummy, he was told it was from the silicon they use to make the steel flow better, especially into the corners of the ceramic mold, so he immediately ordered a look into how much silicon they dident hafta use, vs casting quality. Later guns dident ("dont") go plummy.
