RSM actions vs MkII's

What is the physical difference between an action from an RSM and a MkII? Are the RSM actions larger diameter? Or the same as say a 338 Win Mag MkII? Are the lengths the same? What about fitting a MkII action into a RSM stock and the reinforcing cross bolt in the stock?

First off, RSMs are MKIIs :wink:. They are magnum (375 H&H) length. Bolt, magazine box and floorplate are all longer than a standard or long (30-06 length) action. In addition to the reinforced receiver which accommodates the cross bolt there is a steel recoil plate inlaid in the forearm. It is about the same length as the barrel rib. There are two screws in the forearm in addition to the 3 "normal" action screws. Barrel channels are larger to accommodate the magnum barrel profile. Fitting a standard 30-06 action in a magnum stock would be problematic at best and not cost effective.
