Revolver Range Bag

I have been on the hunt for a range bag for my revolvers. None of them fit in the little pouches my normal range bag has:

I think I finally found one that will work perfectly.

While I am only taking the 3 SBH Hunters and my OM SBH, the bag will easily hold 6+ revolvers, has plenty of pockets for ammo and accessories, shoulder strap, and stowaway backpack straps. I found cases that will hold the 7 1/2 revolvers easily, while Allen Company makes ones that fit the 4 5/8 - 6 1/2. If it holds up well, this will be damn near perfect.

The large (medium actually) bag (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D6XYL1WB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1) holds at least 6 of the pistol cases. For smaller revolvers, I'm sure I could fit more.

Thats basically how mine is. Then each
revolver has it’s own soft zippered case.

I usually carry two to three and ammo rides
in the space where others would be.

Like I’ve said before, “I treat each gun
like it’s the last on Earth”.

The large plastic tackle box style is great for long barrel revolvers. It’s looks like a tackle box on the outside, but inside it has a removable top tray with foam, and then there’s plenty of space under the tray. My buddy turned me on to this back in IHMSA and great for two 10.5” revolvers.

I carry mine in an old Samsonite hard-cover brief case that I added padding to top and bottom. Put guns in 'pistol socks' or regular heavy wool socks. It even has a lock so that I cannot get to my handguns fast enough to defend myself here in NYS. To be extra SAFE, I then lock it in the trunk of my car..... If anybody tries to attack me, I just run them over with the car.

It is a great bag for pistols with <6" barrels.

I bought that after my wife mistakenly used our range bag as a carryon bag for a flight. First, she popped the sniffer because of the GPR, then she got popped for an empty (thank God it was empty) magazine for a Makarov. It has been a great bag for the range, just never fit the revolvers well, I still use it for most trips.

I think one of those harbor freight or craftsman bags fit revolvers perfect in single bags

My revolvers are shoved into holsters for the trip out. The holstered guns are placed in the shooting bag along with the ammo, hearing protection, and such. Lot less space needed. Only bring out a couple anyway. At most three. Mine is a black bag with a middle area, and a long side pocket on each side to store stuff in. Plenty of room.

As an example (Range bag is out of the picture). Here we are back in 2014 15F at the time. Looks like 3 gun day. And s picture looking downrange. Those close range targets are 25 yards out.

About 35yrs ago I went into a local pawn shop and the owner said "Have I got a Deal for YOU"...sitting on the counter was a really nice Hogue Wooden Range Pistol Box.. "This jewel right here can be YOURs for $25..right NOW"...I pulled out a $20 and a $5 and set them on the counter..he wrote it up and his New Wife who was sitting in a chair..says "See that wasn't so hard now was it"....Turns out it had been a birthday present from his first wife....LOL

It is kind of awkward to carry around..so it now houses my Cap & Ball Revolvers..

Guess I'll have to dig out my old Pachmayr gun boxes with the scope built in the lids came in different number of gun sizes, yep even had a heavy duty carry strap...:cool::rolleyes:;)

I had to repurpose my small range bag as a camera bag and press my behemoth bag back into service. That big bag allows me to stuff it full of ammo and handguns... ouch my back.

At the next gunshow I need to remedy that.
