Red Dot for 77/357

Hi ! I recently purchased a 77/357 and am liking it a lot. I've shortened the LOP to 13" and polished the trigger assembly. It's a good little shooter.
I was hoping to put one of those little red dot optical sights on it.... ( like an Eotech , only smaller AND cheaper :lol: ). But can't find a way to attach them. :? (Not interested in the red dots that look like a scope.)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks in advance....mike

Mike28w, I tried a non-scope tube type red Dot on my Ruger carbines for a while. Mine was a Burris Fastfire. It was OK once sighted in, but was a PIA getting it zeroed. The elevation adjustment affected the windage and vise/versa. I tried a second one and it was the same. I wasted a lot of ammo zeroing those sights. Also, those sights are not nearly as rugged as the tube type and the tube type red dots have more precise, repeatable adjustments. If you get 30mm tube sight, like a Tasco Pro-Point, the field of view is better than the 1" models and there is less of the "tunnel-view" effect. Burris make a dedicated Ruger mount for their Fastfire, but none of those mounts are as rugged as Ruger scope rings.

You can get an Ultradot for under $200.
Good quality tube sight. 1" or 30mm

If you want top of the line, get an Aimpoint.

I have a Fastfire III, great sight, but I don't like the mounting options for the 77/357. Besides, the tube sights should be more rugged.

Hope to have a 77/357 within 2 weeks.

I see that your preference is not this......I have a ADCO 1.5mm reddot on my BSBH...always on target, has not lost the point of aim. I would think the recoil on a revolver would be more than a rifle.....just a plan B

My thanks for everyone's input and experience....... I remain very fond of compact , easily carried rifles.
I usually default to a peep sight for my rifles but thought that it was about time to enter the new century.... Now, I'm not so sure, I might just put on a peep. They are so convenient and low profile....
