I have a Ruger #3 action that I would like to use to build a Sharps style long rifle. Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith that does this sort of thing? Thanks for your help.

Not sure where you are located, but you might want to spend some time
on this website - https://30eca00a039f-002391.vbulletin.net & contact the
fellow that runs this site by the name of Tim Malcom at the address below. He
is just about as good as it gets if you want a fine rifle built & a # 3 is a darn good
one to work with.

One tip.

The #3 lever is a horror to use with any heavy kicking rifle as it will beat hell out of your shooting hand or deprive you of a firm grip if you avoid it. Factor in a new profile for the lever if you intend to use heavier loads.

for fine wood work from a master look up Kip Wood in Mt Pleasant MI. He has a video that can be found at Central Michigan Gun Smithing. I can send picts of some of his work done for me to your email only.

I hooked up with R.J Renner last night and had a great conversation with him. We are going to meet at the Big Reno Gun Show in a couple of weeks and if I don't blow all my budget on some other "gotta have it", I will probably get a rifle started with him. Thanks again for all the suggestions!
