Really Old Firearms Adds

Wow, did those ads bring a big smile to my face on a 'Monday' morning! I guess every one does need an anti-tank rifle. But I sure would like one for my own happiness.

Thanks

Mike

I love the marketing behind "Bronson Anti-Bandit Gun"!

"Its the safest gun to fire in city streets..." "Sold only to the meanest SOB's around!"

That line in the Savage add "in these times when more idlers make more brutes and more thugs" is oh so true today.

NICE! One thing these ads do demonstrate is that the need for self protection, property protection, life protection has always existed, even in times people think of as more "serene" or "simpler" or "bucolic."

Some of those ads (and there are a lot more out there) would be wonderful to print, frame and display in a modern gun shop.

"Papa says it wont' hurt us"

And harmless too.

Somehow in these complex times I don't think those ads would be very successful, even though later on "Bronson" became a kind of "cult verb."

"What happened to that guy?"
"Tough night for him. Dude Bronsoned him."
