Description
Does anyone know of a reputable place for bluing. I picked up a 3 screw Super Blackhawk unconverted that needs bluing done. I am in Ohio the only one around here has a 6 month turn around time

Keep in mind that any three screw single action that is shipped to Ruger gets the transfer bar conversion. The last thing I had blued by Ruger was a three screw cylinder and they really messed it up with the polishing. They rounded the edges and generaly ruined the cylinder from an appearance standpoint. You could tell the cylinder had been reblued from across the room.
I have had a couple of revolvers reblued by Ruger and both of them came out great. I did pull the parts out of the guns that would be replaced by Ruger and un-converted them when I got the guns back.
I think the bill was $130 which is probably cheaper than most gun shops.

FORDS in Crystal River Florida, just had 12 firearms done by them and they are pristine. Mine was a 12 week turn around.
