I have a 1B rifle in 22 Hornet that's been a safe queen for the past several years now. Very few rounds have been shot in it and the metal, bore, and wood ae in excellent condition. What do you guys think this rifle is worth? None are listed on Gunbroker to compare. Thinking of cleaning out my gun safe.

Low 2, 3 or 4 digit serial number?
Have the box for it?

It’s funny that there are so few Number 1 rifles sold on Gunbroker, many with no bids. Might list it in the classifieds here at $2000, and lower the price $25 every week til it sells.

A 3 digit Number 1 if in excellent shape like described will sell itself and not need any extra help. Without researching recent sales I would guess 2k minimum in todays market and probably more if you put it on somewhere like Gunbroker to reach a wider audience. Start it low and have faith that it will reach its true value by auctions end.

Hey guys... there are no 1B's in .22 Hornet with a non prefix serial number. They started in the 132-8xxxx range.

I think the 2k +/- is right there.

… and the 22 hornet in RSI/ Mannlicher is going to be one of the new offerings from Lipsey’s, if it ever really happens.

This might affect your sale.

I posted the following Oct. 8, 2024 when it was announced.
The 22 Hornet has my eye also, I haven't seen any out there yet,,, but did find this out there,,,😳

Wonder what the street price will be?

If it is not a true 3 digit then what is the serial number? Has to be a prefix with possibly a 00xxx following? I see the recent prices of 1B hornets selling in a few places for $1400-$1600. One might do better if the rifle has spectacular figure in the wood.

My #1 in 22H has a s/n 133-59XXX is that still in the collectable range? It is in excellent condition with nice wood. Really considering listing it for sale.

Collectable? Yeah, lotsa guys are ga ga over the #1s and the less common calibers.
But I dont think your common s/n adds anything to it.

There is a no1 .22 hornet at my LGS for $1500 130-20xxx 26" barrel and scope.

I don't know any details but it isn't moving.

Also one in 45/70 for $1900 26"

Only 2 I have ever seen offered locally.

The 130-20xxx gun has either had a new barrel put on it or it was an early receiver that was finished late.
Production of the 1B in .22 Hornet did not begin until the 132-8xxxx range.
