if it is 'straight' (flat) across the top of the port, and the bottom curves down, that is done by Mag-Na-Port, first in Fraser, then in Mt Clemons ,Mich heard they became "international" and have moved again.............some say it works , I never noticed any difference, just makes the front sight 'dirty'...as for cleaning any stainless steel we use Lead Away cloths for that kind of fouling, or you can use one of the 3 M Scotchbrite pads, come in different colors, we use the white(grey) one made for stainless steel, but any of the other colors will work, just don't push or rub too hard......yes, Hppes or Shooters Choice, and a "fine" steel or brass ( bronze) wool pad also does the job...stainless steel cleans up nicely and very easy.........................
yes, the porting does affect the guns value, it detracts to many ,but not to a hunter?? though some have complained to us in the past they do NOT care for the "blast" diverting , going up , in front of their eyes, its distracting.........but for those who say the porting works, it reduces the muzzle jump to them......Larry Kelly has been doing it for years, made LOTS of money, and they are still doing it, so it "sells"
