Got my new boot grips for the lcr today. They are butt ugly but they sure do a good job of making it fit in your pocket better, even better that the laser grips.

Is it just me, or is the cylinder on the LCR in this picture with the new boot grip have a polished cylinder. It looks a lot shiner than the one with Crimson Trace on it. If it is, what did you do to polish it up like that, it looks really sharp!

It is polished. I started off with a very fine sandpaper and then went to crocus cloth. I had 2 grips of crocus cloth, 1 made by Norton and the other by 3M company. The cylinder comes out with the one screw and just takes a lot of rubbing. 8)
sharpblade7777, have you tried speed loaders with the new stocks yet? Looks relieved enough that they should work fine, just curious as to how they really work.
I'm thinking I like these new boot grips. If I can find an LCR equipped with them to try out, I think Ruger may have just sold one.

bub, I did try my HK speedloader and it didn't work well at all, very tight fit. You can get it to work but I wouldn't be in a hurry. I use the 5 round quickstrips made by Tuff. Rog
Thanks, sharpblade7777. I suppose I'll have to try one out before buying, then. Either that or do some whittling or sanding on the stock. I carry speed strips in addition to speed loaders and find, myself, that loading a whole cylinder with speed strips is too slow. If it won't take a speed loader, I'm not real interested. Guess we'll have to try one out and see. Again, thanks.
