Pawn shop Old Army...

I stopped by a local pawn shop Saturday to have a recently inherited gold and silver coin collection authenticated, and value estimated by one of the owners, who's an expert numismatist.
His partner who handled the firearms end of the business, decided to retire last Fall and when their FFL expired in December, they decided to get out of the gun business altogether.
While chatting, he mentioned that he still had a few "blackpowder guns" in the back, and expecting junk, I asked to see them...Long story short, I picked up this gently used 1977 vintage ROA, sans nipples for $400 OTD. (I added the Slixshot nipples upon arriving back home.)

As a bonus, I also aquired this 54 cal T/C Scout pistol for an additional $250, which appears unfired, as a companion to my 54 Scout carbine that I've owned since the early 90's...

And NO, I didn't sell the coins...Yet!

Veeery Nice. And good prices also. I paid $400 quite a few years ago for some of mine. Glad to see you are going to shoot 'em :) . Thinking of getting one of my Old Army revolvers out as the weather is now acceptable.

(y) A blue Old Army in that condition is $700 these days. I see nice boxed stainless ones sell at auction regularly for $900 plus premium.

I remember when the stainless ones came out, you couldn't find one to buy. Then one day I was reading classified ads in Denver, I guess I was 15, and a guy had a LNIB one for $125 (I think). I called and it was still available. No driver's license, so I waited for dad, who got home from work about a half hour later. I told him about it when he walked in the door and he said, "Let's go!". It was a fairly good drive to Aurora so I said, "Maybe I should call back and have him hold it for me". My dad said, "Aw, he ain't gonna hold it for you, let's just go before he sells it". We get over to the guy's apartment and knock on the door, explain we were there for the Old Army. He asked if I was Jim. I said no. The guy said, "Oh, sorry, a guy named Jim called a few minutes ago and asked me to hold it for him"... Jim showed up a few minutes later and bought it
