I read on news 5 people had been gored in this yrs Running of the Bulls. I saw video of a man gored in arm, then being dragged down street. Do these cats do a lot of drinking? I was raised on a farm and I've seen mean cattle. A person can get hurt quickly. I read on the history of this celebration. This one is 9 days this year.

I don't need to run down the street with stampeding cows, but many folks have the need to push the envelope every day. I would think that running with the bulls is safer than say, motorcycle racing, mountain climbing, downhill skiing, mountain biking, etc. It's probably even safer than driving your car down the freeway. And yes, they probably do a lot of drinking. :mrgreen:

They are either drunk, stupid or both. Jumping off a cliff provides an adrenalin rush also...for awhile anyway. :)

Hi,

There was an infomercial on TV last night selling a package of the old "Laugh In" series....

An American is among those gored, and he plans to run with the bulls again this year if they can get him out of the hospital in time. Turns out, he was gored three years ago as well!

What's "Laugh In" got to do with this? Remember Arte Johnson's German soldier character? "Verrry interrresting. But schtooopid!"

I have seen this in person. It really isn't that glamorous. The bulls just want to get out of the narrow street. The city blocks off the path leading into the central bull rink. I didn't think all the bulls were killed. But even so, the meat is sold in the market right away.

Let's see. I weigh 145 and a bull is just many times heavier. In a "run into" situation, who will come out winner? I'll go back to racing motorcycles, it's safer.

I would think racing anything would be safer than than having a 1500 lb , or more bull trying to out run you! Like a bear chasing 2 people ,, you just have to be faster than your buddy

Don't knock it until you've tried it. But, youth, alcohol, and the desire to impressive a very pretty lady all played into it.

By the way, the pretty lady told me if I ever do anything that stupid again she would divorce me.
