Not a Ruger....SKS question

I am seeing a Chinese SKS for sale on J&Gs website for $239. It is C&R eligible & as I have a class 03 FFL, I was thinkin' about ordering one. Avoid DROS, transfer fees & taxes....plus, I think it is great having the UPS guy deliver a gun to my door in this liberal cesspool I currently reside in :wink:

Anyone know if these are any good? I haven't shot an SKS since I lived back east in the 90's...even then, I never had one, just shot a few friends. Are they similar to the AK?...I had an Arsenal SLR for while & it was a pretty good shooter...until I had to get rid of it...thank you PRK :roll: ...

Recent SKSs I have seen at gun shows seem to be all over the map as far as condition goes. Chinese SKS could mean most anything condition wise. Pricewise it is right in line with what I have been seeing. As for comparing them to the AK pretty much the same. Some differences but as for function and reliability they are about the same. Biggest difference is the fixed mag. But with some practice stripper clips are just as fast to reload.

If you can,,,look for and buy a Russian made one. Better gun in my opinion.
