I will be starting to reload 45 acp. I have a lot of federal and a couple others that are small pistol primed and some large pistol primed. I already have small pistol primers and want to use those until I can get some large pistol, and I will be using IMR 7625, Blue Dot and 800X. My question: is there any adjustment in powder charge for sp primers or do you use the same charge as you would for a lp? All of the recipes I can find use lp primers. Thank you

Nope no difference what so ever just load by the manual, same load for either size.

When small primed 45 ACP cases came on the reloader's scene I read a detailed report on the difference, if any between large vs. small primed 45 ACP. I believe the only difference was with some powders there was an average of about 25 fps slower velocities with small primers. Everything else close enough for gov't work...

That Blue Dot is going to be very dirty on you and the gun but it works very well.

I'm too lazy to change from it.
