I did have a few, they go fast, i thought i found another, there all 22 mags, then i found one and its the wrong one for him.....i tryed.

All NM 22 LR cylinders are not the same. OM cyls are the same as most NM cylinders except the very latest.
You need to date your gun or provide a serial # and we can identify when it was made.

Old Model and early NM 22 LR Cylinders look like the one on the left with the firing pin groove:
Post c. 1975-1976 New model 22 LR cylinders look like the one on the right, no firing pin groove. Either is correct for NMs.

NM RATCHET BOSS DIAMETER CHANGE:
Fairly recently and coinciding with single ten introduction post 2010, there was a change to a smaller ratchet boss diam. (same size as the .32 Mag cylinders have had since their introduction in 1984).

Late NM .22s have a ratchet diameter of .560” and all the rest of the NMs and all OMs have the large diameter ratchet of .622".

The only things to be concerned with are the OAL of the cyl and the ratchet boss size. Just looking for a NM cyl will not guarantee one that will work.

Personally in all my testing I have found the two different ratchet boss sizes to be interchangeable. But I can't guarantee it in every case.

Wow!! Nothing in life is simple. The collective knowledge of this group is outstanding. To say the least.

The serial number of the blued Single-Six is :69-41669. It does have the large cylinder ratchet boss.

Maybe this will move things forward for me.

Scott did try. The cylinder he sent will not even enter the cylinder frame. The cylinder is too long. Also, do not forget that the front cylinder boss on the NM is longer than the old model or so I have found to be the case.

The cyl Scott sent is exactly what we all hope for when looking for a replacement cyl! All you need to do is stone down the front hub to the same length of your existing cyl. You'll never find one the exact right length.
