I'm going to have a look at a Bowen Nimrod, that's for sale locally, tomorrow afternoon.
It's in 500 Linebaugh, blue, with turn ring evident, and a 6 1/2" bbl.
About 10 years old, owner says shot very little.
Plan to shoot it and hunt with it, rather than look at it!; possibly resell in a few years to move on.
Question I have is whether the 6 1/2" bbl will make it more difficult to resell at some future time. Most conversions seem to be done with 5 1/2" bbls.
thx,
scott

Not sure about harder to sell but I doubt you will get the same money as you would if it were a 5 1/2" gun. Therefore I would pay less for it as well. The 5 1/2" one (I own a SS one) is THE traditional Nimrod and will have the banded barrel that supports the ERH. That said, I never buy a gun and consider resale value. Either I want it or I don't. I searched long for a used one and finally landed a mint one pretty darn cheap.

Custom guns rarely sell for anything near what they cost. So since resale later is on your mind, I'd be sure to want a good deal on it to get my money out of it. I'd consider a good deal not over 2/3rds of the original cost. Just my 2 cents.

Do you like the gun?
Do you want the gun?
Can you afford the gun?

Then just buy it; life is significantly too short to fret about a few dollars.
Really.

You'll own a very custom gun; cool.
