Just picked up a new, in the box, Ruger SP101 in 22LR. This is the 8 shot version of what appears to be a Security Six with adjustable sights! Gave it the usual new gun cleaning. I didn't like the heavy trigger pull so I popped the grips off to get a better shot at lubricating the action. I keep a few 22LR fired cases around to use as snap caps so I stuffed it full and started breaking it in with some dry firing. The trigger pull got a bit better after a while but is still heavier than I like. So, I ordered a Wolff spring kit and will doctor it up when the springs get here! I also wanted a longer grip (big hands) so I went searching on Amazon and found a nice carved wood set for a reasonable price. All the bits should be here in time for the weekend so a trip to the range is in the planning stages. All in all, I like the gun. It has very useable sights and the 30oz weight is right in the middle between too light and too heavy! Will report back after the range trip!
