Chief, your town is on SH 16, one of my favorite roads for motorcycle trips. I used to take 16 during trips from DFW all the way to Medina, where I jumped off to ride the Holy Trinity (RR 335,336,337). Normally spent nights in Fredericksburg to enjoy the German and TexMex fare.

I always came south from Dallas to Cleburne, then through Meridian and Hamilton, then jumped onto SH 16 at Goldthwaite. I never had the opportunity to ride north through May.

That part of Texas is full of pecan orchards. Factually, the SH 16 pecan corridor produces more pecans than anywhere else in the world.

In Tall City (Midland), they don't have Santa Claus. They have Sandy Claws.

I was on 2 gator freighters, 1 in the 70's, and the USS Fort Fisher 79-83. Did you ride on her?

No sir, May is on the 183 between Rising Star and Brownwood. Also 60 miles north east of Abilene, 27 miles south of Cisco (off the 20)
