First firearm was Ruger Bearcat in 1967. Traded it in 1969 for a minty Colt Woodsman 4 1/2" with target sights & thumb mag release. Traded the Woodsman in 1985 for a new KMK-678. Mostly rimfire fan, Mark II's & IV's, 10/22, & 8" Charger. Like shooting scoped MkII Govt Target SS & 7.5" heavy taper SS long range (75-100 yds) with 2-6x scopes. Nothing against Mark III, just don't own any. Big fan of Volquartsen trigger/sear/hammer upgrades. Own three Buck Marks and one utterly tricked out S&W Victory the deal was just too good to pass up.

Good to hear you finally came around, you are on the right track, good to have you on board, and as for the MK III, never took a liking to it, told them so the day they came out, and they discharged ( went bang) when put down HARD on the bench and to this day, do not even deal with them, total waste of time and effort...oh we'll stick to the standards, MK I and the MK II's...not sure of the MK IV, still remember the issue with the High Standards, wedge, push button take downs......story for another day;):cool::rolleyes:

Welcome from the sunshine state. I spent my college years in Boone at ASU good number of years ago. Spring and fall are beautiful there but the winters can be trying unless you like wind and snow.
 
Bought my Bearcat in 1960. I still have it. I taught my children to shoot with it. My son is now a Californian Highway Patrol officer. That little Bearcat led to a lifelong love of Rugers.
I graduated from ASU in 1968. Good memories of Boone.

Welcome to the forum. I retired in boone in 2002 and left the area because of the traffic and weather. But I loved the area and the surrounding hiking trails, especially around the blue ridge parkway.
