Back in the sixties, when the Blackhawk retailed for $87.50, the Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman retailed for $85.00. During at talk with Bill Ruger, Sr., in the late seventies, he said, "The Model 28 is a bargain in the Smith & Wesson lineup. Great gun at a great price."
