Thanks. Love it already. Brings back memories. I managed to remember how to field strip it without resorting to the manual. The GMC on my first ship ground it in pretty hard.

Those 1911A1 mil-specs are timeless classics. Personally like them over the tricked out ones popular today. Of course, I still love Colt's classic DA revolvers as well.
Yay! Me too. I had two Colt Combat Commander 70 series that I traded away last year. I kicked myself every day since. A few months ago I bought this one from a local person. It's an old safe queen that is what Springfield Armory now calls the MilSpec. I ordered the "US" grip panels from Springfield a few weeks ago.
