Yesterday, I went to my gunsmith to pick up a revolver I had in for repair. While there I took a look around an saw a Browning BL-22 in the rack for sale. I have had several Grade I's in the past and like them.

This one was a little different. It is a Grade II, engraved receiver, checkered stock, and the hard to find 24" tapered octagon barrel. What can I say, had to have it..... :D

And, it shoots as good as it looks! :D

.

The model is: BL-22 .22 Cal Grade II Octagon FLD.

Several years ago, at a Northern N.E. funshow, I had $700 in my poke.

Two GS vendors, a few tables apart, both had a rifle I was looking for.

One had that same BL-22 Octagon, NIB; the other had a NIB Winchester 9422XTR-M (.22 mag).

Both were tagged the same ($700).

I decided on the 9422 instead of the BL-22, because that vendor dropped his price at the sight of my cash.

Good Luck, with your choice.

Beautiful rifle, You have been on a roll lately.

Uhh..I have found some nice items lately. AND my gun fund is almost gone. :(

Dave

You got some really nice stuff with it though.

Mike, trouble is I am trying to down size. Not having much luck. Next week I am going to put up some of my old favorites for sale.

From what I have seen of your collection I am sure those old favorites are very nice. If I were you I'd probably say to heck with it & keep 'em all but I am sure you have your reasons.

Very nice Browning.

I like the wood- looks like a satin or semi-gloss finish, vs. the normal Browning "bling" finish.

I have some Marlin 39 rifles, one Winchester 94/22, and a Henry Golden Boy.

No Browning BL-22 for me yet... :P

Very pretty gun, but the barrel is a bit long for my taste. This one looks about right:

BL-22 Micro

While visiting with a buddy a few years back, I was shocked to see a BL-22, hanging from a couple of nails, in his cow barn, covered in dust and cobwebs. It was there for pest control. Classy pest control, in my opinion!
