Not as good of a picture as the South Texas Javelina, but I was able to take these from the back porch. A herd of 11 came by the other day and I took these as they rambled about eating and looking around. They roam all over the area, as well as other smaller groups and I encounter them occasionally on my every other day walks with the dog. Just give them a little room and they move on.

And a pretty large one.

have you noticed the population growing there as fast as it does with the wild hogs in the southern states?

any ever get aggressive?

The numbers seem to stay pretty constant around here, but they have expanded their ranges quite a bit. Use to be mostly down in the lower elevations and desert areas, but they've gotten up to the 6-7000 foot elevation and seem to be doing OK there. We're at 5000 or so right here and they do great. Not overly aggressive unless they're cornered, but they're hell on yard plants.

Haven't seen any feral pigs on my property yet, but it's only a matter of time. They are within 5 miles of me and I have a year round stream on the back of the property, and they tend to stay near the water. We also have the occasional alligator spotting on the TennTom waterway in the same general vicinity. I'm hoping the gators keep the pig population under control.

Gators get pretty big. This one was taken last year in the Southern part of the state. 13' 5", 792lbs
