<$500 would be a great deal if you can find one.

I would say that a more realistic price would be $550-650.

I heard Ruger has either slowed or stopped production of the .454 SRH, and even still, the older Target Grey models are becoming collectible.

I would move now, I saw a "used in box" one for $650 at a gun show, in great shape. If I had the cash I would have picked it up.

.454 ammo is expensive, but you can shoot .45 LC through it too. Ask yourself how much you want it, and why........as a shooter, a "toy", etc. I usually give my impulse buys a few days to "simmer" and sometimes I regain my senses.

Not a 454, but I bought my SRH in 480R for $400 LNIB off of GunBroker. If you are not in a hurry, and remian dilligent, you can find a good deal.

A 480 LNIB for $400  That is a smokin' deal.

I bought a NIB 7.5" 480 for $600 and thought I got a good deal.

It was a few years ago but still a good deal. The seller glutted his own market by posting a bunch of them at the same time. They all went for $400 to $500, and I was one of the lucky ones ;-)

Oh come on, you know you want one... :D

Thanks for bringing me back to reality. . . lost my head there for a second :) Just got a bunch of gear for casting. 56# of linotype came yesterday, already had gotten a load of WW recently. Maybe I'll lay off buying guns for a while. . . maybe.

How long is a 'while' ? It's 1:53 pm now. Don't you think you've waited long enough?
