I have a source for a 3-screw Single Six with only the .22LR cylinder. Shows some wear and price is $255.00.

Opinions please.

Sounds like a fair price and the best part is they havn't made a three screw in what thirty eight years 8)
Has it been converted?
Shoot it and enjoy it. Thirty years from now it will be worth eight hundred dollars

Sounds pretty good to me as long as it's mechanically sound and the bluing isn't in too bad a shape. If it's been shot a lot the grips will have considerable wear.

If it's unconverted and in good shape, it's worth it. Not all single six's were convertibles so it's quite possibly correct to have one cylinder.

I think if you want a shooter converted or not you should buy. All of the things flatgate mentioned are inportant to a collector. If its a shooter then some wear is no probluem.

Sights might be of a concern though I like fixed and abjustable and would not pass on either at your price.

All other things flatgate pointed out well watch out. You
could find youself with a gun to collectable to be a woods bumming gun.

Now knowledge is a good thing. You might be able to sell said gun for twice or three times your cost. I did I just contradict myself?

And only important when you decide to sell it. A price of $255 isn't bad even without knowing all of flatgate's information
