Friend of mine bought a .44 flat top from me and would like bigger grips. Pachmayr seems to only have them for new model rugers. Any sugestions? Could be rubber or wood.

might be quicker/easier to get an old model xr3red frame and put it on the gun, you can find pachmyers to fit that one..he can then put the xr3 frame aside for collector purposes..

I've got a set of Herret Model RX (I believe they're called Shooting Stars) grips for the XR-3 grip frame that I'll give him if he wants to pay the $6 shipping fee. They're 5/8's inch longer and a little fuller in the trigger guard area then originals and checkered wood to boot.

Hi Mike, got the M.O. yesterday and the grips on in the mail as of this a.m.; should be there in 5-6 days according to the P.O. guy. These grips were on a Single Six Magnum only gun I bought to get the grip frame off of. Later turned the gun into a 32 H&R Mag along with another and then sold the pair to a fellow Cowboy Action Shooter. The grips have been sitting in my gun safe for about 6 years or so and I'm glad somebody can get some use out of them.

I don't like small grips and I have small hands! I take a New Model Super Blackhawk grip frame and round off the trigger guard. It makes a nice grip for hard kickin' .44 mags.
