Doesn't the V-22 osprey already do this but about about 10X the size?

Pretty much the same but not too dependable. The Osprey has killed a lot of people in it's development and obviously hasn't finished doing that yet. One problem is the factor of scale. Small flying objects generally have a much higher power to weight ratio as well as needing much less structure due to their smaller mass. Which means they don't scale up all that well. If that NASA machine is the best they can do it's no wonder we can't get to our own space station.
