my moose collection

I had an unprecedented number of moose hanging out at my place this last winter. While they were pretty regular, one moose cow in particular, (Hillary), was a constant for months. She has been making herself a fixture, more and more every winter.
Some of you may remember me talking about her.
I took just a few clips of the dozens and dozens I have, and pasted them into a short video. I hope you can take a few minutes to watch and enjoy.... I am making a longer one, with a bit of over dubbing to eliminate my rambling in the vids...

Be careful Reuben! That reminds me of my time in Anchorage during the winter. Walked the 1.3 miles to St Elias from the Moose’s Tooth area. It was like running the gauntlet. Walk a ways then shelter in a bank lobby, waiting on a Moose to clear, then walk a ways, shelter in Home Depot etc!

Liked and subscribed. We just had a small bull moose in our driveway here in north Idaho which is unusual for this time of year, we normally only see them in the winter.

I've had moose right up to my house looking in the window. Fearless critters! ps

Yeah, they don't seem to be intimidated easily!!.. nothin like whitetails..... :lol:
I get stopped in winter quite often on the trail.... They just don't like to move off. Even when they aren't browsing.
I have about 1/2 mile of trail that runs thru young birch suckers, that the moose like to get into and break to get to the branches and buds. They hang in the trail and can break your wind shield and even bloody your face, (the birch.... not the moose!)..
I call that section, The gauntlet!

This video has a moose in it, but it is very hard to see because it is dark. I want to get better wildlife footage, but I really gotta get better equipment first. Moose are easy.... they don't move much!! :D

That's quite a collection of moose you have. they don't seem to be to bothered by your dog :) . I haven't seen a moose yet this year. Our moose population has taken a big hit over the last couple of years due to the ticks. It's hard to believe such a big animal can be killed by such small critters.
