modifying the LCP

I've just put in some Wolff 13lb recoil springs. Can't wait to take Elsie to the range now!

I'm looking at better guide rods:

Does anyone have a preference between BT and Galloway Precision?

Is it worth trying to hunt down a Sweet Pea aluminum trigger? What do you think a gunsmith will charge to fit the springs?

I just picked up a discontinued Bersa shoulder holster for the LCP off eBay! REALLY psyched about that. Been looking for one since I bought the LCP a year or two ago.

I've got the Wolff springs and the Galloway Guide Rod. I noticed a big difference in the springs, but the guide rod doesn't seem to be that big of a difference, other than the finish. I tossed the OEM and new guide rod on my powder scale, and the OEM was actually a little heavier (I did install the Galloway one though.)

One other upgrade I would recommend would be the Pierce grip extensions. I like them over the Ruger ones.

I've also installed a Hogue grip add on to fill the grip out for my hand a little bit and have a couple of the MagGuts +1 followers and spring kits coming.

I bought an RTK Sweet Pea trigger for the LCP today. Ross happens to live a few minutes from my office. Got to meet him and chat for a while in his workshop while he installed the trigger for me. Very, very nice man. Had an extremely pleasant visit and a stellar transaction. The trigger feels SO much better on dry firing, I can't wait to take it back to the range!!!

What I've done so far:

RTK trigger, BT guide rod, Wolff #13 springs, MagGuts, Garrison Grips footplate, and a partridge in a pear tree. I'm waiting for the slide & barrel to come back from Kentucky Gun Coatings; the slide is being Cerakoted in Satin Aluminum, to match the milled-finish aluminum trigger.

If there's a more trick LCP out there, I wanna know about it!!!

Wow, a ported LCP. Never seen that one coming. Owned a 357 and a 44 special ported, but that's the first 380 I've seen ported. Does it tame the snappy recoil? Nice custom work for sure.

I kinda agree .... However ..... I must admit ... I WAS thinking pretty much the same thing .....


I don't understand the need to make a $250 gun into a $500-600 (or more) gun that performs like a $250 gun.

Hey .... To each his own ... I hope the owner really loves it and enjoys it, because its gonna be his for a long long time. :D

Can't argue with the quality of the workmanship from what I see .... I'd lose the grey grips though.

More like .75" or less after the chamber. I'm just.......oh, whatever.

Not my particular taste but well executed none the less...

I do like that trigger. Eliminating some of the LCP trigger bite would be a good thing.

The only mod I've made was to put white glow paint on the front sight, and orange glow paint on the rear sight.

To port a .380 is just ridiculous. You maybe running neck and neck with a .25acp now. After firing a LCP, I discovered the best mod to make to a LCP is to leave it in the gun shop. Jam jam jam ... Forget it!

My son, his two workers and I all have LCP's. Several thousand rounds down range without a hiccup. That includes Privi Partisan, Tula, and US type of ammo.

I hear what you're saying, but to call the .380 a weak round is kinda negative exaggerating (de-exaggerating ?). :D

Today's premium .380 rounds come damn near the ballistic equivalent of standard 9mm's. A .380 is nowhere near the laughability of something like the .25.
