MK2 scopability ?

Looking at a used MK2,but it's miles away.
What would it take to mount a red dot or scope,are they d and t'd for a rail like the one I have on my 10-22? maybe base is better word than rail.

Ruger started to factory drill and tap MKII's in 2004 IIRC. There are are also a few no drill clamp mounts on the market. If it was me I would not drill and tap the gun unless you plan on keeping it forever. Resale usually takes dip when they are irreversibly modified. Let us know if you get it!

Nah ... don't do that ... just buy the Weigand no drill scope mount. Goes for about $30 and fits the the MKII's rear sight dovetail.
