Mini-14 Magazines

I know that Ruger Magazines are the best for my Mini but I don't have "Ruger money"
Are the Gen 2 Tapco magazines a dependable alternative? I really have no need for 30 round mags and will probably only load 20 rounds at any time.

I can't answer that from personal experience, but I do know that Tapco has allways been real good about exchanging defective merchandise.

I have several that I use in a 183 Mini 14. They work flawlessly.

I have 3 of them and they have all run without a hitch.

My promags work great. They don't feel as nice as the original Ruger mag but no problems either. I did slightly enlarge the pin hole on 2of them and I did a little dremmel work on 2 where the front lip is.

The Tapco Mags I bought for my 581 series mini didn't work. They were to tight when inserted and would not feed cartridges. Tapco replaced them for me with magazines that fit my SKS and they work great.
