Coverage of the French response to recent terrorist attacks has given us good images of the Ruger carbine in police service. Does anyone have any idea how much Mini-14 production has gone to foreign military/police sales? How about other calibers? I've seen something about .222 Remington, I suppose to get around proscriptions on owning weapons chambered in "military" calibers.

I noticed the Ruger mini also. I got a kick out of that and I'm happy you observed it and mentioned it. I was wondering myself how they put that in foreign police use.

Funnier yet.... How about that officer with the auto pistol that jogs up next to the group and squats down to rest and literally places the front of the pistol onto the ground to help balance himself. I tend to think experienced gun users would try to keep the front of the tool clean. What if an obstruction sticks to the front of the barrel?

I guess in non-gun using societies like France even the authorities they give guns to don't know how to use them either.
