Excuse my ignorance. What are 'micro sights' and why are they special?

Really as a ruger that came from the factory  ZERO,NOTHING,in fact some would sell a gun for less if it had the microes on it---just a few people that happen to collect them and I am maybe the only person with several in my possession, but some folks have some but not for sale :) just the history of micro sights being added is neat to me 8) so its a personal hobby not something 99% of REAL ruger collectors would consider as collectable JMHO :) MICROES NOT PUT ON AT THE RUGER FACTORY------

mshugunner,
americal is correct but he is being a bit modest. For years all the books indicated no factory micro sighted Rugers which is also correct. Only recently did he and and another RF member tracked down a connection between Ruger and Micro Sight Company

These RSSs are a very small part of Ruger history but as Flatgate has shown with his pictures for some time, it is an interesting look at what people were doing with there little revolvers before Ruger manufactured them that way.

americal,

See PM.

I will try to restate better  my feelings on ak's micro. Someone who is of the old school leaning this gun is far better than buying a ordinary RSS new model --just my taste :) I LIKE THE GUN A LOT the microes are correct for the gun both front and back--IF it was mine I would do some cosmetic work on it ---- not much but add XR3 stags, light work with cold blueing, get the dings off the sights a little,it can be a great shooter or nice to have---it looks fine like it is :!: remember it is what it is :) I even like the primere gate--again old school--I sure hope someone buys this gun :!: :!: :!:
