Meeting in person

Until today I had never actually met anyone on this forum in person (I don't think so anyway lol).
Today at the NRA meeting, I dropped by the Ruger Collectors display and unexpectedly met @contender and @RoninPA .
First, the display was a great collection of Ruger DAs. Very nicely done. Naturally I walked off thinking I had taken a picture and when I got home, found out I did not. If I go back tomorrow, I will for sure take a picture.

Second, and more importantly, two nicer guys you will never meet in your life. I could have stayed and talked for hours. Tyrone and Ron, thanks to both of you for great conversation and education in the world of collecting and displays. I actually now have been inspired to try to do one of these myself, even though I really don't have anything collectible.
Hopefully there will be another forum meet/shooting weekend scheduled at some point, because after today I will definitely be in.

I was very glad you stopped by, AND discovered you were a member here. Yes,, we could have easily spent a long afternoon of just fun discussions.
And Ron's display,, as always was very well received! Lots of folks would stop, study & make all sorts of comments. One guy,, tried hard to push past the barrier ropes to get his hands on one of Ron's guns. (Not allowed by the collectors & the rules.) Graciously,, Ron stopped him & took the time to educate him!

And remember what Ron & I told you; "Just do it!!!!!!"

No. Not for me. I am so amazingly good looking all of the other members would leave sad and crying.

Kinda late with a reply, we got home mid day yesterday and still catching up. It was great to meet you and talk Rugers, collecting, displaying and everything else. Yes, Tyrone and I can talk about Rugers and guns in general for a long time when we get going.

I consider Ron and his wife Jackie and Tyrone as good friends and people. You won't find any better than that trio. I am honored to know them.

Although I did not win any of the "major" awards, I did win the National Firearms Museum "Spirit of the Game" Award. This award is presented for a display that effectively showcases the history and significance of firearms.

way to go Ron, nice job, and a very GOOD display, glad someone of the group won, '"something"...... was kinda surprised when we heard of the results and that the display of the I guess it is the "Revolutionary War" got medals for "items", NOT gun related, seems they won like 7 out of the total medals given....hhhmmm and this was a "gun show" ( I know the convention is MORE than a "gun show") but having been there, done that and had some background in display & judging, it just seems a bit odd to me...but that being said, it is the getting together, and yes the results of some very hard work, time, money and effort to get "our story" out here of the unknowing folks...always like the meeting of "like minds" and love of the product, from all over the country , and this the local shows usually do not get across ...I for one miss the trips, the journey and the work involved but got my hands full these days taking care of Momma, as well as health issues myself need tending to ,,,,BUT good hear some folks did get a chance to meet & mingle,,,good work to all......(y)(y)

Great job! I think I enjoyed the collection part of the exhibit more than anything else. Meeting this guy, Norris Jernigan, was pretty neat also.
