M77R Chambered in .284 Win

I have a couple of questions for all you Ruger experts, I have an opportunity to acquire a M77R tang version in .284 Winchester. My questions are:

1. How many did Ruger manufacture?
2. What is a fair value for a used rifle in this chambering?

It depends if it is a flat bolt or regular M77. I have and shoot a 284 M77 flat bolt and have been told that it is a rare item. It shoots GREAT and is one of my favorite guns.

It is not a flat bolt. I was told it was from the late 80's. Just trying to find some good real world information.

1. Ruger does not publish production figures. But, not many were made in either flatbolt or roundbolt.
2. Assuming 95% shape or better, $550 to $650. JMHO

Thank you for your reply. That is a good price IMO too as from what I can find out about the is they are pretty rare.

Jim, the ones that I have watched on GB have all sold north of $800. JS

If you want it get it! You WON"T find another. They came out in the late 80's I had one and sold it like a dope. I believe a limited run for a distributor but I don't have my copy of Chads Reference in front of me so I won't swear to it. As far as production numbers I won't offer a guess but not many. If the gun is 95% and up I'd pay Up to 875 for it. If you want to sell it later put it on auction arms or gunbroker and you'll get your money back and then some.

Perfect, I agree on the fact one will not find another, I have never seen one. That is what caught my eye, now I just have to see if I can work out a deal for the rifle.

If anyone has more information I would appreciate it! Of course a letter from Ruger is the answer if I can make the deal.
