LCP Reliability Factor?

I've been gone for quite a while, out of funds, and off the net.
Good to be back here!
I am now in good enough shape, I hope, to buy an LCP. Last I
heard, there were some problems with the LCP that were being ironed out. Are they good to go out-of-the-box nowadays?
I own four Rugers, each is just about perfect, IMHO. Wouldn't trade
or sell any one of them. I held off on K-T, Taurus, and Bersa, for a
Ruger, because I trust them. Just about any new design will have
some break-in problems, and I'm hoping the new LCP's are past that.
Is it time, yet, for me to make my purchase?

I've not had a single issue with mine. I did give it a good cleaning out of the box before I fired it. It had a LOT of packing grease in it.

I absolutely recommend it. The LCP is now my primary carry weapon of choice. Light, compact, shoots well, easy to break down and clean, and at a reasonable price. ( I paid around $319 several mths ago)

Ruger has a Recall notice on the early models bearing a ser# prefix of 370-xxxxx.

If you purchase a model with a prefix of 371-xxxxx or higher, your good to go.

I own and have owned many Rugers (rifles and hand guns). The LCP is the only one that has ever given me any problems. I've had to send my LCP back because of failures to extract/eject and they replaced the slide. I took it back out and fired 118 rounds through it with 3 failures to extract. Fortunately, they were all with the Speer Lawman ammo so I'm hoping that will go away with another brand. I also fired 50 rounds of the cheap Wal Mart TULAmmo with zero failures.

I couldn't be any happier with the size of the gun and how it handles. It is surprisingly accurate for such a small semi-auto. I just want to get it as reliable as every other Ruger that I've owned.

I will say that Ruger's customer service was top notch and did a great job of trying to resolve the issue. This gives me comfort in continuing to purchase Ruger firearms.

I have had one for about a month now, about 150 rounds thru it with not a single problem. I did paint the front sight post white, that actually helped quite a bit, at least for me.

I have a few hundred rounds through mine and I only had issues when I tried Gold Dot hollow points. I only bought one box and my LCP had a few feed issues, and I believe that others have had similar issues with HP ammo. It didn’t have trouble on every round, just a few. I haven’t tried any other brand of HP yet and I haven’t had any trouble with FMJ rounds. Even with the HP feed issue I still like my LCP and would recommend it to others…as a matter of fact I recommended one to a stranger in my local gun shop that was debating buying one.
