I just got a .380 LCP. Have shot a 50 :( box of Winchester white thru it. Seems to jam after second shot about every 3rd magazine. Not a stovepipe, but doesn't completely extract the casing. Any suggestions as to why? Mag which came with it is marked "Made in Italy" (?).

Mags are made by Mec-Gar, one of the premier magazine companies in the world. They just happen to be Italian.
Did you clean your LCP thoroughly before you shot it? Take a good look at the extractor tooth under a good light and make sure it looks clean and sharp, no chips, etc. Take a toothbrush and clean any crud out of the tooth/hook area, to make sure it can grasp the shell rim. You might check the tension by seeing if the extractor will hold a shell firmly against the breech face with no help from you.
If all that checks out a call to Ruger might be in order.

Also suggest you try a different brand ammo and repeat your experiment. While WWB works well for some folks, there's a significant population of shooters that have trouble with it in just about any semi-auto. I stay away from it because it's more expensive than the federal or blazer ammo available to me, and I have had past problems with it in 9mm.
It also may just work itself out as you shoot more. Let us know what it's like after 400 rounds.

The tension test described above, as well as inspection, should tell you that. The fact that it does extract some shells indicate it's there and working; It may just be dirty or misadjusted.davebob":2d3f1msd said:

I shot an LCP and NAA .380 with a variety of ammo recently. The brass was all over the place. Some had a habit of hitting me in the head. I think it's the nature of the beast with the .380, at least in the 2 guns I shot back to back. My .45ACP and handloads dumped all but one out of about 250 in the bed of my PU. Nice!

My SR9 will occasionally, repeatidly eject casings back towards my face/head. Most of time it doesn't. Ammo doesn't matter, and I THINK I cleaned the extractor good too. LOL
First as a newbie to the site, I have to say this is one of the best platforms I've used.
Regarding my LCP, when I try to put a cartridge and try to have it held by the ejector, there is about 1/16-1/32" space and it falls out. I presume that is my problem. Will have to send back to Ruger. Bummer. If that's the problem, they have terrible QC.

I had a Nambu that ejected straight up, sometimes dropping empties on my head. My LCP ejects a little forward or to the right. And the brass is really hard to find, even in the scraggly grass that grows in the sand hills where our range is.
Called Ruger. Fellow I spoke with seemed to be following a flow chart to solve the problem. Didn't work, and he reluctantly admitted it might be the "loose" ejector. Anyway, is sending a UPS label to send it back. Hopefull they can fix it as i do like the gun.
