LCP pins walking out

Hello all. I would like to know if any of you have had the pins in the frame of your LCP walking out when you fire it.

I have shot 200 rounds of WWB through it and have needed to drift the lower aft pin in both times. It works out about 1/10 of a inch each time.

I had a problem with a pin walking on my LC9 about the same distance you are talking about and Ruger CS said is was normal and to just re-seat it. I used a drop of RED locktite the last time I reseated it and it has not walked since.

I have owned three LCP's and never had a problem with the pin. The locktite solution sounds good. I might recommend blue before I went to red.

Kind of a funny update. I was at the range yesterday, and the take-down pin in the newest of my LCP's began to walk out. I tapped it back, and all was fine. If it happens again, I may go the blue locktite route.

My understanding is that the frame pins are tapered (ever-so-slightly cone-shaped) so they definitely fit "better" one way, and not the other. Try just punching them out and reversing them. This, of course only applies if they've been taken out before and reinstalled in reverse. This also doesnt apply to your take-down pin. I have no idea why that would happen.

Good luck to you!

The pin nearest my LCP's hammer was walking out. I just now beat it back in with the motel's ceramic coffee cup. Thanks for the reminder! I'm serious! :D

4Banger thanks for the post, I bought a pair of LCPs in April and just looked at the pins. I could see they were just starting to walk out. I have close to 500 rounds through mine and my wife maybe 200 rds.

Thanks
