Going to buy one, any ideas on the difference? Both same price or at least within $20.

I'd be very careful if I were you with the DB, many reports of problems although it appears (maybe just maybe) that they have turned the corner effective with a particular dual letter s/n prefix. But since the jury is still out on whether the worst is over, if it were me and I really wanted a DB, I would wait another (6) months and start your research all over again.

The LCP in its current config is about as problem-free as you are going to get, almost to the point of being boring. The DB has some nice features but reliability is paramount and so far, its record in that area has not been stellar (or consistent). And with Ruger, you have an established company backing you up with proven staying power. A good read from some current DB owners who are also LCP owners is found at:

Think you made up my mind for me kraigster414. Will pick up the LCP in the morning plus couple hundred rounds of ammo.

I have shot a DB and put 200 or so rounds down the pipe. With that said the only FTfeed was limp wristing (only a few I might add). I bought an LCP about a month ago and put 200 down range with only 2 FTfeed. I will say that I like them both. Acc. are more available for the lcp than the db. But I have a db waiting for me in GA. when I get back down that way.
Just my .000002 worth

My 2 cents; Between the two choices, get the LCP, bugs have been worked out by now. But if you have the extra $$$ I prefer the Khar P380. LM

WDell, I got the LCP last night, a little cleaning and a light fluff and buff is done. Ready for the range this weekend. I looked at the Kahr and the DB,Kel Tek and Taurus.I had the Kahr in a .40 and it had feeding problems, a Taurus 85 broke after 15 shots so went with Ruger. Have had many Rugers with no problems. thanks for all your input, I listen and think about what you all say.

I don't think you will be sorry with the decision you made. I have no experience with the DB, but do have an LCP. Has been 100% reliable and I'm able to shoot it accurately.

Shot the LCP today, 10 yds, offhand, no ftf or failures of any kind, well my poor shooting excepted. All com hits about 5" in diameter, I'm pleased, then the XDsc .40, mostly one ragged hole. That thing can flat shoot.

I'm sold... LCP it is. I was going nuts trying to decide DB or LCP.. Just to many unknowns and what if's with the DB. A carry weapon needs to go bang each and every time, your life depends on it. LCP will do that BD may not and I'm not willing to take that chance.....

I was really impressed with the little Ruger, recoil is low, accurate, reliable for 50 rds at least. They were handloads too, 115gr lead round nose. No regrets on my end.

FYI, if you want spare recoil springs for the Diamondback, they won't sell you one. I know as I tried to buy one, just like most of my auto pistols, I like to have extra springs, just in case. Most other gun manufacturers will sell you spares DB won't, I don't know why, as I couldn't get an answer. This really turned me off to owning a DB. LM

Now have around 150 rds through the little one and it is perfect so far. Accurate for a small handgun, recoil is non issue, great little pocket gun.

Good to hear. 'Wish I could say it was a surprise but the current LCP is about as problem free as you are going to get in a pocket .380 for 300 plus dollars. Complaints are few and far between at the Ruger LCP forum. Keep shooting it. I think you made the right decision as would most folks who own this gun. :) Enjoy.
