LC9 ejected casings

Question on the LC9's spent casings. I reload my casings and don't like having to chase them. My XD 9 sub compact drops my casings about 4' to my right, 16 rounds could be covered with a bath towel. My wife's LC9 throws the empty cases 10 to 20 feet behind and scatters them everywhere. There hard enough to find in the grass as it is. At the indoor range she sends everybody scrambling to dodge hot cases. Is there a spring set change or some other mod can be done to stop throwing empty cases so far?

I laid out under $20 for a heavy plastic tarp at the local farm and home store. It's like 12X15 or something. Works pretty well for me. Of course depending on the lay-out of where you shoot .... your situation may be different.
