I purchased an LC9 earlier this month. It is my first Ruger. Every plan I made to get it out to the range to test fire it and qualify to carry it as a back up fell through so I haven't fired it yet. One impression I had was that the slide to frame fit seemed loose, but that may be how it's designed. Last week I noticed that the front sight was loose. It wouldn't come out of the dovetail, just slide back and forth about an 1/8 inch. Ruger emailed me a UPS label and I sent it in. They got it on the 21st. (Side note: UPS sent it north instead of out west for some reason so it had to be rerouted and was not delivered overnight).

Has anyone had any problem with a loose sight and does your slide to frame fit seem loose? What is Ruger's turn around time, generally?

No help on LC9. I sent a Single Six back because of an oversize barrel/cylinder gap. They re-barreled it, set it to a nice tight .005 inch, and I had it back in 14 days.

Ruger's customer service is excellent. My turn around time (LCP & SR9c) was 10 days each one.

Got the pistol back last week. They installed a pin to hold the sight in, but it is slightly off center. The rear sight was adjusted to compensate. I go to the range tomorrow to test fire and try to qualify with it. They also shot 40 rounds through it since I asked about the slide to frame fit and they reported that it functioned fine.

Just bought an LC9 a couple of weeks ago. The front sight is so loose that it nearly falls out of the dovetail and slides around after every shot. The rear sight also moves side to side by about 1/16". This makes the sights totally useless. The front sight is not pinned. I really like the gun, but this is really unacceptable workmanship. It appears they've known of this problem, so why don't they fix it? I've only contacted customer service today. I've read now about several people sending their pistol back to have the sight pinned and it comes back with the sight pinned off- center. What the hell is that? Why would they not take the time to center the front sight before pinning it? I don't want to have to compensate for an off-center front sight by adjusting the rear site. I certainly hope they fix this correctly.
