Lapping In Scope Rings

Nope, not me....but I don't argue with those that do.
Back when I fooled with scopes, I used Redfield 1-pc bases/rings. Out of a dozen or so sets, I only encountered one that was off enough to pass any light. It was returned.
On the other hand, I have encountered a couple of recievers that were't quite right, but one can shim the bottom of the base to allow for that.

To each his own.

I second what DGW says. Your "eyeballing" through the scope, not shooting through it! Once in a very great while, I came across scope rings that needed a slight seating adjustment. Usually because they were improperly machined to start with. 99.9% of the rings you will ever encounter will "secure" the scope just fine. Some people get "anal" about everything and scope rings happen to fall under that!...............Dick
