Recently off my bench is this nice deep brown full flap leather holster for an adjustable sighted 7 1/2 inch barrel Ruger Old Army. Wickett and Craig 7-8 ounce vegetable tanned cowhide with white double row nylon stitching and solid copper reinforcing rivets, this holster has a nicely contoured deep bucket. Unlined. Riveted and stitched belt loop. Button stud flap closure. My own Old Army is shown in the holster only for illustration and is not included or for sale. The holster is dyed using Fiebing's solvent based Show Brown, treated with Lexol leather Conditioner, top coated with Fiebing's Resolene Acrylic, and a final hand wax was applied and buffed with Fiebing's Carnuba Creme wax. The loop is slightly lighter in color, yet from the same hide. Leather can be like that of course as a natural material, but I like the slight contrast. Asking $100 plus true postage cost Priority Mail. Thank you for looking, and please contact me if you have any questions. Don Sterchi

Watchman thank you. I've PMed you back. I also have sent you another picture that better shows the lighter shade on the belt loop. I'll add it to the original photo set above. Most important to me is that folks are completely pleased with my leather art, and I want you to see before you buy. I'll mark it sold pending funds but want you to know that if you change your thoughts with the additional picture I understand. I just want people to feel they received good value for their money. Thanks for your interest. Don Sterchi

Powder Smoke I don't own or have access to a Bisley Blackhawk. Always wanted a Bisley though. I'd be tickled to craft a custom holster for you if only I had the correct gun to fit. I have access for patterning to an old Vaquero 7.5 inch, a 4 5/8 inch Blackhawk, both 5 1/2 inch and 6 1/2 inch Single Sixes, 4 5/8 inch Super Blackhawk, Bearcat, 6 inch half shroud GP100, 3 inch SP101, and of course my fixed sight and adjustable sighted 7 1/2 inch Old Armys. I draw and cut out all my own patterns using real handguns.I know this doesn't answer your question, but I would never say something fits without being sure. Thanks so much for asking. Don Sterchi

Powder Smoke I sent you an explanation for what I think would be different between the Bisley and plow handle style on a flap holster. Thanks so much for thinking of me. Don Sterchi

Yes Rocdoc I have a Cowboy 3500. I lost the ability to hand stitch more than a few stitches at a time from degenerative joint problems. "Bertha Jo" as I affectionately named her has allowed me to continue crafting leather and actually has opened some new leather art frontiers for me. She's about 300 pounds of cast iron and steel that lives in one of our bedrooms and shares space with my wife Penny's quilting equipment. I actually use some of Penny's stitching templates to lay out, measure and cut some of my leather. Here's a photo of me and of Bertha Jo. I consider Bertha Jo an adaptive device of sorts for me and my "limits". Thank you for asking. Don.

Don, thanks for responding with explanation and pictures. I need to get one of those sewing machines. Most all of my work has been hand punched and buck stitched, have not developed the skills to accurately hand stitch, although I do have all the tools to do so. Where did you get the stamp for the DonS?

I just received this fine holster today, and I must say that it looks even better than the photos!

I am completely pleased with my purchase, and would recommend Don's work to anyone wanting a fine quality, hand crafted piece of leatherwork. :D

Thanks again Don! 8)

Watchman thank you so much. As I commented, it's understandingly difficult for a person to feel comfortable sending a stranger money for an unseen item, and kind comments like yours attesting to what I offer may help ease the discomfort associated with a purchase. I hope your Old Army holster gives you pleasure for many years to come. Don Sterchi.
